Restoration project Leeuwarden is nearing completion
In a former governor's residence, a number of 150-year-old ceilings are being restored. The SchildersVakschool TV makes a video about them.
Randolph Algera is visited by the SchildersVakschool TV in Galerie Autrevue. He tells about the unique restoration project in the former governor's residence at Zaailand 94 in Leeuwarden. Catering entrepreneur Willem Adema bought the property and discovered its former glory. Art Decor restores three ceilings to their full glory. They also design and execute a 12 x 3 m wall painting. The first parts are inspired by Mesdag, a painter who used to hang on the wall of the governor. The following sections show well-known buildings and activities from Leeuwarden. The last part will be a vision of the future. In de Brouwerij has once again given Leeuwarden its own brewery. So much attention to history and art is fantastic to experience.
