Mural of Sperwerflat nears completion
The mural on the Sperwerflat is almost ready. The first large mural in Heerenveen now adorns the Greiden district.
After some start-up problems (cables stolen from the engine twice, diesel once, at 3 degrees against the facade in the pouring rain), we completed the Sparrowhawk in the past 3 days in full sun, 30 degrees. It's never ok, but now it's done... but the painting still needs some finishing touches. There will be another day for a beautiful addition. But that can't be done until the end of August. It is 15-20 meters when it's completed. We enjoyed it. It was completely handpainted by brush. The design is ours, Gabrielle Westra and I did the performance together. The digital drawing was created by Arnoud Algera. Thanks to Ateliers Majeur for the trust, and the sponsors Sijperda Verhuur for the aerial work platform. Sikkens Center Heerenveen for the paint advice and the volunteers for puncturing the design. And the Leeuwarder Courant for the nice press release.
